Double Portion – #25

It’s ok, God’s got this. That’s really the message that Elisha is sharing with his servant. When we are serving God, there are always more on our side than on the other side.

Now when the attendant of the man of God had risen early and gone out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was circling the city. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord , I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” And the Lord opened the servant’s eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

The servant saw the danger around them. Elisha saw God’s solution around them. When we are faced with situations day-by-day, do we see the problem in front of us or do we see God’s solution in front of us? If we will open our eyes to recognizing that God’s solution is always present, even when it’s not readily visible, then we will never fear a situation again.

Knowing that God has the solution in store and available takes away any need for fear or hesitation to be obedient to all that God has for us. Are we trusting in God’s solution? Do we have faith that he will fulfill his promises and that when we follow God, those who are for us are more than those who are against us?
