The plot. In keeping with following the life of Elijah, we move forward to 1st Kings chapter 21. In the first 16 verses of this chapter, we see a plot hatched by Queen Jezebel to help her husband, King Ahab, obtain a field that he wanted but that did not belong to him. Then, we see Elijah brought into the picture. Read 1 Kings 21:17-18.

Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, “Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who is in Samaria; behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth where he has gone down to take possession of it.

Ahab and Jezebel may have thought that they had gotten away with their scheme to kill Naboth and take his field. However, God was not fooled. He saw what they did and he sent Elijah to go address it with them. In fact, God gave Elijah the specific details of exactly what had happened.

God knows what we do and how we do it, and God also sees how the people around us do what they do as well. As a result, we can rest assured that God will bring about what should come about. We do not have to try to seek revenge or try to exact punishment on others. God has that covered.

At the right time and in the right way, God knows exactly what everyone has done and God it will be faithful and just through every situation. Will we trust God to take care of the situations around us that we see?
