Four of the Letters, Day 13

Not perfect, yet. Read Philippians chapter 1.

As we see Paul speaking here, this time in chains and prison for the gospel, he is sharing an uplifting and hopeful message to the church in Philippi. You see, the gospel is spreading rapidly because of Paul’s testimony. And Paul wants to people to understand the work that God is doing in each of them is not complete yet. God will continue to work in and through them until the day he perfects them.

Our perfection comes when we see Christ face to face in heaven. Until that day we are flawed humans that rely on Jesus to live through us each and every day. This verse is one of my favorites because it’s a great reminder that we were never meant to be perfect this side of heaven. God is working in us and we need to continue to improve every single day, but perfection will only be reached in heaven.

Are we allowing God to work and both in us today? Are we taking one more step closer, through Christ, today?
