Christian Devotional – December 23, 2018

There is a plan. Even in the midst of the darkest, most difficult times, God is never surprised or left wondering what to do and how to make it all turn out right. Read Genesis 45:1-6.

Now do not be grieved or angry with yourselves, because you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life.
Genesis 45:5 NASB

Joseph has finally seen that his brothers have changed. He can begin to trust them again. He now has to reveal himself to them so they can understand, too. And, he doesn’t want them beating themselves up about the past, but he wants them to know that he sees God’s hand in everything that has happened.

Do we see and acknowledge God’s hand in everything around us. It’s there. He is the One who slowly, carefully orchestrates our lives in such a way that we could never understand, but that brings about His glory.

Whether we are at the beginning, middle, or end of the story, God has been and will be in complete control. Will we acknowledge all that Christ has done for us and give him the credit for all that he is doing for us and for His name’s sake?
