Christian Devotional – December 26, 2019

Where is he? Jesus has been born. We saw that in Luke’s account of the Christmas story. Now we turn to Matthew to see the next part of the story. Read Matthew 2:1-2.

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”

People were looking for Jesus. They knew he had been born even though nothing formal had ever been announced. There wasn’t any parties to celebrate. In fact, when these magi arrive, they seem to be the only ones who know anything has happened.

Jesus came into the world and completely impacted it. Do we know that? Are we searching for him? These men had dedicated roughly two years of their life to finding the king who made that star show bright in the heavens. Are we willing to commit to finding Jesus and worshipping him as well?
