VERSE:
Genesis 12:3–I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all the peoples on earth will be blessed through you.
TRUTH:
Most of us read this promise that God gave to Abram and get excited about the first part. After all, who wouldn’t like to know that the people who bless you will be blessed and the people who curse you will be cursed. Often we fail to read the second part of the verse. All the peoples of the earth will be blessed through you. As we are looking at and aware of the all the people around us and how the descendants of Abraham have spread, we must realize that Jesus Christ, who was born into the world through the lineage of Abraham, would be the ultimate blessing for all the people of the world. Through Jesus Christ we have access to God and to salvation. As God was promising this, He knew that His Son would be coming. Are we mindful of the fact that God promises to bless the entire world through Abraham, by way of Jesus Christ? Will we respond and seek to introduce others to Jesus Christ so that they may enjoy the blessing that God promised to them?
RESPONSE:
Father, I thank You for the blessings that You promised to Abram’s descendants, but I thank You even more for choosing to use him to bless the entire world. I and so grateful for Your gift of Your Son Jesus Christ and choosing to allow Him to be a blessing for all the world, not just a select few!
