Bigger Than Me, Day 5

As we read through Day 5 of the bigger than Me Devotional on YouVersion.com, we come to realize that we are not nearly as important as we like to think that we are. We have this sense of self-worth and this drive for significance that doesn’t coincide with what the Bible has to say about who we are.

God understands that we are God-breathed dirt. He is the one who breathed life into us after all. When we start to get an inflated sense of who we are and what we can do, that impacts how open we are going to be to following Him. If our sense of self is based on our accomplishments, then we will never be able to view ourselves in the right way.

Our value is based on Christ and on what he has done for us. Amazingly, we see that God loves us and has given us tremendous value. Do we continue to seek after him and him alone. Do we recognize our value come from him or are we still trying to establish value and purpose on our own?
