Christian Devotional – December 4, 2019

A truthful perspective. We must always be willing to view ourselves in comparison with Jesus Christ, not comparing ourselves to others. Read Galatians 6:3-5.

For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another. For each one will bear his own load.

As we really and truly view ourselves and our works we must understand that God is the one who gives value to what we do. We do not want to be deceived about ourselves. We are God’s workmanship and have amazing value, but where that value lies in who God is not in who we are.

As God works and moves through us he demonstrates all that he is and it is truly amazing. If we think we have anything to boast about in our own strength and in our own power, we are very much mistaken. Are we giving glory and credit to God for all that he does in and through us each day?
