Read Job chapter 24

VERSE:

Job 24:24–For a little while they are exalted, and then they are gone; they are brought low and gathered up like all others; they are cut off like heads of grain.

TRUTH:

As Job continues speaking, he discusses the wicked people. Job knows that eventually those people who are wicked will be punished for what they have done. However, it seems like they are exalted at first. When we look at our world, the same seems to be true. We see people who are doing evil and yet they appear to be successful. They appear to “get away with it.” Job indicates that he seems that, but that he knows at some point, they will be held accountable for what they have done. However, it just never seems like it’s soon enough for our human sense of justice. We need to keep in mind that God has eternal perspective and that He is the One who truly knows the best timing for everything. Will we trust Him, even in the area of justice?

RESPONSE:

Father, there are times I see people doing evil and seeming to get away with it and I become angry. But, I know they are sinning against You and that You are the One who is going to ultimately hold them accountable. I will bring my frustration to You and I will wait on You. I know that You are the One who sees the big picture and knows everything that is going on. Keep me focused on You and not on others.
