Christian Devotional – January 11, 2018
Are we ready? If we knew when things were going to happen we would be prepared and moving our families in the best direction to ensure that they are safe. We would have a sense of urgency in everything that we did and we wouldn’t waste time doing things that didn’t help with being ready. Looking at Luke chapter 12, starting in verse 35 through the end of the chapter we see:
“But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have allowed his house to be broken into. You too, be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour that you do not expect.”

We are a people who like deadlines. We procrastinate and we wait until the last minute for things. However God wants us to have that same sense of urgency even when we don’t know the exact date or time of when he is going to return. Are we living today with the expectation that it might be our last day before Christ returns? What would we do differently if we knew He was coming back today?
