Understanding Purpose, Day 3

Purpose is based on God. Read 1 Timothy 1:9.

While we are focusing on one specific verse most days, it is still a great idea to go back and read through the entire chapter. In this letter that Paul wrote to Timothy, he is reminding him that God has purpose for us. That purpose was planned and determined long before we understood anything about God’s plan. And Jesus Christ sacrifice was the beginning of that plan.

We cannot begin to fulfill God’s purpose for our lives if we have not accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Everything begins with that. God shows his kindness toward us because he has a plan for us that involves our relationship with Jesus Christ. When we want to understand our purpose, we must first evaluate whether we are completely sold out and devoted to Jesus Christ. Is he the true Lord of our lives?

We cannot begin to understand our purpose until we understand his Lordship.
