Christian Devotional – January 16, 2018

Are you going where you have been invited? Invitations are an interesting thing here in the United States. My children will receive invitations for birthday parties or other events and sometimes we go and sometimes we’re not able to. However, if we were to receive an invitation to come to the White House, we would put more focus on that and rearrange existing plans to be able to attend. The value of an invitation is in who is doing the inviting.  Jesus tells a similar story in Luke 14:16-35.

For I tell you, none of those men who were invited shall taste of my dinner.'”

Jesus gives a story where people reject an invitation from Him. We have been given an amazing opportunity to be invited to come into the presence of the King of Kings, yet people have excuses as to why they can’t make it.

What is our response to the invitation that Christ gives to us? Will we accept His invitation and allow Him to share all that He is with us? If we reject His invitation, He will reject us.
