Christian Devotional – January 22, 2019

Perseverance through trials. It’s certainly not the favorite topic of many people, but it one that James focuses on. Read James 1:12.

Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

God knows that we are going to go through trials and difficulties. We are going to experience situations that are difficult and that will test us. There are rewards for being faithful. James here indicates a Crown of life that God promises as a reward for those people who love him.

Love is the answer for how we persevere. As we love God, then we are willing and able to stand firm through trial. If we falter, we are lacking in our love and dedication to Christ. How strongly do we love God? Will our love and dedication and commitment to Jesus Christ carry us through the trials that are coming?
