VERSE:
Genesis 44:33–“Now then, please let your servant remain here as my lord’s slave in place of the boy, and let the boy return with his brothers.”
TRUTH:
Joseph was testing them to see if they still resented their father’s favoritism. With Joseph gone, Jacob now favored the youngest son, Benjamin. So, Joseph wanted to see whether the brothers had truly learned anything from the way they had treated him. Judah, who had been one of the leaders trying to get Joseph killed and who had sold Joseph into slavery, now is the very one offering to become a slave himself in order to spare Benjamin. Joseph saw that repentance wasn’t just something that was words for them, they showed it in their actions as well. Do we live out daily the truth that we believe about Christ? Can others see Christ in our actions and responses.
RESPONSE:
Father, I praise You for all that You have done in me and I want the world to be able to see the way You impact my life. I look to You every day and I pray that You will work and move in me so that I will display Your glory to those I am around. Please enlarge my circle of influence so that You may display Your glory.
