Read Genesis chapter 19

VERSE:

Genesis 19:29–So when God destroyed the cities of the plains, he remembered Abraham, and he brought out Lot of the catastrophe that overthrew the cities where Lot had lived.

TRUTH:

Lot wasn’t saved because of something that he had done. Lot was saved because of his relationship with Abraham. He was Abraham’s nephew, so out of respect for Abraham, Lot was saved. We are the same way. There’s nothing that we have done or could do that would merit God choosing to save us on our own. Instead, we are saved, or not saved, based on our relationship to Jesus Christ alone. What is our relationship to Jesus Christ?

RESPONSE:

Father, Thank You for sending Jesus Christ to make a right relationship with You possible. Because of Jesus, I am able to be saved and to have the relationship with You that You desire to have with me. I thank You for all that You have done and the way that You have moved and worked in me. Keep me focused on You, for it is truly about You and not about me.
