Day 6 – No bragging. Nehemiah had a purpose and a olan, but he didn’t just announce that to everyone. Read Nehemiah 2:11-13.
So I came to Jerusalem and was there three days. And I arose in the night, I and a few men with me. I did not tell anyone what my God was putting into my mind to do for Jerusalem and there was no animal with me except the animal on which I was riding. So I went out at night by the Valley Gate in the direction of the Dragon’s Well and on to the Refuse Gate, inspecting the walls of Jerusalem which were broken down and its gates which were consumed by fire.

He had gone all that way with all the various supplies, but he didn’t tell anyone what he was doing or what his purpose was. He didn’t need to brag about what God was going to use him for. He didn’t need to spend time talking about anything, he just needed to get busy doing.
How often do we hear from God on what he has for us, but then we get so busy checking in with others or bragging to others about what we are going to get to be a part of instead of just getting busy being obedient.
God is not interested in our popularity or in our fame. He’s interested in his glory and whether we are being obedient to what he has given us to do. Are spending our time wisely, doing what God has for us or are we missing out?
