Read 2 Peter chapter 2

VERSE:

2 Peter 2:18–For they mouth empty boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of the flesh, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error.

TRUTH:

This chapter deals entirely with false teachers. In Peter’s time there were several people who were making claims about what people should be doing. Peter is stating that these teachers would boast and appeal to new believers and work to entice them away before they had a chance to really get grounded and understand what the truth of the Lord meant in their lives. We can easily get drawn away from the truth if we don’t work to keep focused on it in our lives. Are we daily learning and focusing on God’s Truth for our lives? Only then will we not be enticed away by things that are not true.

RESPONSE:

Father, I know that You have a plan for me and if I am not paying attention, others will come and try to snatch me away from following You. I pray that You will keep me focused on You and knowing that You are all that I desire and all that I want. Thank You for Truth and help me to stay focused on that today.
