Christian Devotional – June 11, 2014

Read 1 John chapter 2

VERSE:

1 John 2:19–They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For it they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

TRUTH:

Not everyone who goes to church belongs to Christ. In fact, many people who enter church and seem to say the right things while they are there, end up leaving and don’t really follow through or act on anything the heard or said at church. We must be careful not to follow their example. If we truly belong to God, we will seek to remain in God’s will and in His presence all the time, not just when it’s convenient.

RESPONSE:

Father, You are all I want and I desire to stay where You are. I will not leave and I will not follow those people who are only at church for show. I belong to You.
