Christian Devotional – June 9, 2015

Read Psalm chapter 140

VERSE

Psalm 140:7–Sovereign Lord, my strong deliverer, you shield my head in the day of battle.

TRUTH:

God is not just our deliverer, He is our strong deliverer. He doesn’t have to push and fight in order to help us through, He is the strong force that is able to move us to exactly where He would have us be. He also shields our head in the day of battle. He is like the helmet that we put on to guard our head as we plunge into something dangerous. But, more than just guarding us from physical injury, God also can shield our thoughts from the dangerous areas where we sometimes are tempted to go. Our thoughts can lead us into sin and God is able to help shield us from those thoughts if we will trust in Him.

RESPONSE:

Father, I am so glad that You are the shield for my head. I will trust You with my thoughts and plans so that You are able to take them and mold them into things that please You. I know that You are my strong deliverer and You are able to do all that I need. I will trust in Your salvation.
