Christian Devotional – March 30, 2016

Read Acts chapter 1

VERSE:

Acts 1:8–“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit come on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

TRUTH:

Jesus had a job and a responsibility for them to do, but He knew that they would never be able to do the work He had for them on their own. We are the same way. All the things that we see and that we are trying to do are things that we will never be able to do on our own and through our own strength. The disciples needed the Holy Spirit to come upon them and give them the strength and the direction to do all that God has for them. We need the same thing. We are never going to be able to do all that God has for us to do unless we are willing and able to allow the Holy Spirit to work through us to do it. Will we surrender to Him today?

RESPONSE:

Father, I pray that You will use me, but get me out of the way first. I know that I am only useful as I allow the Holy Spirit to use me. Thank You for all that You do and all that You are doing through me. I pray that You will continue to work in and through me.
