Book of Revival, Day 12

Accuracy. Read Deuteronomy chapter 12.

As Moses continues to share the commands of God, we see this verse placed strategically at the end of the chapter. As we seek to understand exactly what God is asking of us in this chapter, it’s important to recognize that God wants us to be accurate in our understanding of what he wants. He doesn’t want us to guess at what he wants. He’s very specific about the levels of obedience that he is asking of the people of Israel.

When we are understanding our obedience to him, are we accurate in what we are choosing to do to follow him? Or, are we adding additional things in or being selective regarding what we are going to obey and what we aren’t. God is not set up like a buffet line. We do not get to choose a little of this and a little of that. God provides specific guidelines to ensure that we are able to demonstrate our love to him through our obedience.
