Christian Devotional – May 28, 2016

Read Hebrews chapter 2

VERSE:

Hebrews 2:15–and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.

TRUTH:

God came so that He might save all of us who had been held captive by Satan in the clutches of fear and death. Christ came and lived the life that we would not be able to live; the perfect life that is demanded by a holy and just God. Then Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself on the cross so that He paid the price for the sins that were not His own. He created the way through which we may receive the salvation and justification of God. We were enslaved to our own sins. We were stuck in sin and darkness with no hope of escape and no other possibility besides death and Christ made a way. He freed us. Are we living today as though we are freed! Are we thankful for to the One who gave us our salvation and enables us have a relationship with the Father? God is worthy of all that we have to offer Him and more and He paid the price that was demanded. We are free!

RESPONSE:

Father, I am free. I have nothing to offer You and I have nothing that You would want, except myself. I have been freed from the slavery of death and sin and through You I will commit myself to You because You are worthy of my everything. Take me and make me wholly Yours.
