Who is God? Day 8

God is comforter. Read Nahum 3:7-10.

Outside of God, we cannot experience true comfort for the painful experiences of life. The people of Nineveh were experiencing the judgment of God. They were going to go through difficult, hard, challenging, and overwhelming things. All of these judgments were being brought about by God but the people were not repentant for their actions. So they were not being comforted by God.

God in his mercy would have provided comfort if they had repented, but without it, they cannot truly understand what comfort is. Are we coming to God for comfort? During the hard things and challenges that we go through, God is the only one who can truly comfort us. We must turn to him for comfort in the midst of our difficulties and challenges. He is the only one who can truly comfort us because he is the one who is in control of everything.
