Pageant Queen with a Purpose, #27
Victory! The Jews were successful and saw their enemies fall before them. Read Esther 9:11-15.
The number of those killed in the citadel of Susa was reported to the king that same day. The king said to Queen Esther, “The Jews have killed and destroyed five hundred men and the ten sons of Haman in the citadel of Susa. What have they done in the rest of the king’s provinces? Now what is your petition? It will be given you. What is your request? It will also be granted.” “If it pleases the king,” Esther answered, “give the Jews in Susa permission to carry out this day’s edict tomorrow also, and let Haman’s ten sons be impaled on poles.” So the king commanded that this be done. An edict was issued in Susa, and they impaled the ten sons of Haman. The Jews in Susa came together on the fourteenth day of the month of Adar, and they put to death in Susa three hundred men, but they did not lay their hands on the plunder.

The edict had gone out and the Jews defended themselves. They won and experienced victory. All this came about as the result of a specific woman winning a beauty pageant and then having the courage to stand up and be bold when she was faced with a difficult situation.
We will only experience success when we are following the plans that God has for us and we are bold and act in courage and faith. Do we act in boldness? Do we accept the purpose that God has for us?
