Read Matthew chapter 5

VERSE:

Matthew 5:16–In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

TRUTH:

We are to display the love of Christ through our actions. However, our good deeds are not to gain praise for ourselves, but praise for God. When people see what we’ve done, do they praise God? What is the measure by which we know whether our deeds have been truly what they ought to be. Do our actions point people toward praising God?

RESPONSE:

Father, I praise You and thank You for all that You do through me. Please keep me out of the middle of things and allow any and all praise to be directed to You, where it should be.
