Christian Devotional – October 26, 2016

Read 1 Timothy chapter 3

VERSE:

1 Timothy 3:10–They must first be tested and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.

TRUTH:

Before we can be truly committed to service, we must first be tested. The church was to test and try those who wanted to serve in the church to ensure that they were truly people of their word and people who desired God above all else. Many of us want to serve and to be seen as “great” when we are around other Christians or in churches. How would we fair if our motives were tested before we were allowed to serve?

VERSE:

Father, I desire to serve You, but I know that I am not worthy on my own. You have to work in me and change me if I am going to be able to serve the way that You desire to use me. Take this life, it’s Yours to do with as You please.
