Christian Devotional – September 18, 2015

Read James chapter 1

VERSE:

James 1:5–If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

TRUTH:

For me, it’s not so much “if” I lack wisdom, it more “when” I lack wisdom. Yet, God knows and understands that I am going to feel overwhelmed and not know what to do in many circumstances throughout my day. He will generously give to all who ask of Him, so as I experience moments when I don’t know what to do, I have confidence that I can come to the Father and ask Him and not only will He give me the wisdom I need, He will do it without finding fault with me or judging me for needing wisdom. God knows I need wisdom, that is why He offers it to me.

RESPONSE:

Father, I need Your wisdom today. I feel overwhelmed and unsure of myself in the situations in my life and I need You to guide me and help me understand how to respond in the situations that I find myself in. I thank You for loving me enough to provide what I need without finding fault in me for needing it. I will come to You today for wisdom in how I deal with and respond to the situations I encounter.
