Christian Devotional – September 17, 2016

Read Romans chapter 2

VERSE:

Romans 2:6–God will repay each person according to what they have done.

TRUTH:

As Paul is explaining here, each person is going to be held accountable to God for their actions. We are all ultimately accountable to God for the choices that we make and for our obedience to Him. However, each and every one of us is not perfect and we all have sinned, so how can we possibly stand? Jesus Christ and his perfect life is the only One who can stand, but we must each make a personal decision as to whether we are going to believe and follow Jesus Christ as the Lord of our lives. We will each be judges on that, for if we have Jesus Christ standing in for us, then all our sin is covered by His perfection. Are we going to be repayed for what we have done or will we be covered by Jesus? The choice is ours.

RESPONSE:

Father, thank You for creating a way for each and every one of us to experience Your salvation. I know that it is based on my own choices, so I praise You for the people in my life who pointed me in the right way and who gave me encouragement and strength to stand. I pray that You will continue to help me do the same for others.
