Christian Devotional – September 21, 2016

Read Romans chapter 5

VERSE:

Romans 5:2–through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.

TRUTH:

Everything that we have is made possible by Jesus Christ. He is the One through whom we have gained access and He is the only thing that is worth boasting about. We are nothing apart from our relationship with Jesus Christ. What are we boasting about today? Are we boasting in our own strengths and abilities? Do we boast in the works of our hands or the thoughts of our mind? Anything that we have that is worth boasting about is simply Jesus Christ.

RESPONSE:

Father, I find it so easy some days to get excited about the things that I think I do. You are the only one who does anything good in or through me. I pray that You will help me to only boast in You and not in myself. You are the One who is worthy, not me.
