Devotional – February 13, 2012

VERSE:
Job 28:20–Where then does wisdom come from? And where is the place of understanding?

TRUTH:
What makes a person wise? How do we define wisdom? Job asks this question and later in the chapter answers it. Wisdom is the fear of the Lord and understanding is departing from evil. All the things we think we know so well, without the fear of the Lord, are nothing. Only through Him are we wise.

RESPONSE:
Lord, You are amazing and You are the source of all wisdom. Help me to remember this when I think I know so much. Forgive me when I substitute Your perfect wisdom with my faulty wisdom. Help me to seek after only You.
