Devotional – January 2, 2012

VERSE:
Luke 10:41–But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things.”

TRUTH:
Jesus stops in to see Mary and Martha. Mary sits to listen to Jesus while Martha works to prepare things. However, Martha becomes angry and frustrated and asks Jesus to tell her sister to come help. Jesus tells her how she is too busy being distracted and worried. He goes on to tell her that only one thing is important: Him. Do we get distracted and worried about other things besides Jesus? We are to focus on Jesus, not on all the distractions.

RESPONSE:
Lord, there are so many distractions each day. I pray that I will see through them and focus on You and only You today.
