Devotional – July 11, 2011

VERSE:
Psalm 41:9–Even my close friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

TRUTH:
At some time, we will feel betrayed by someone close to us. How do we respond? David brought it to God. We must not look to take revenge ourselves, but take our hurt and anger to God for Him to deal with the entire situation. He knows the full story to all situations and is able to defend us when necessary.

RESPONSE:
Lord, help me to respond correctly when I have been hurt and betrayed. Take my hurt and heal it so that only Your feelings of forgiveness remain.
