VERSE: Numbers 27:18–So the Lord said to Moses, “Take Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit of leadership and lay your hand on him.” TRUTH: The Lord showed Moses who was to take his place as leader after he was gone. Joshua is described as having a spirit of leadership, yet later in the book of Joshua it is clear that he was afraid and nervous. God sees things in ourselves that we cannot see. God knew that Joshua would be exactly the right leader for the people even if Joshua didn’t see it. Joshua just had to be obedient to what God had called him…

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here in the United States! VERSE: Numbers 12:13–So Moses cried out to the Lord, “Please, God, heal her!” TRUTH: Miriam had spoken against Moses so the Lord punished her. Yet, it was Moses who prayed to God and asked Him to lift the punishment and restore her. When someone has wronged us, how do we respond? Do we allow God to deal with the punishments and are we praying for restoration? RESPONSE: Father, give me Moses’ attitude toward those people who have spoken out against me. I pray You will help me to seek Your restoration and not my own revenge in these situation.

VERSE: Numbers 11:17–I will come down and speak with you there, and I will take some of the power of the Spirit that is on you and put it on them. Moses came to the Lord and told Him that he is not able to bear the burden of leading the people all by himself. God decides that He will have Moses bring others with him so that they can share the burden with Moses. Do we try to carry burdens alone? God knows that…

VERSE: Exodus 27:20–Command the Israelites to bring you clean oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning. TRUTH: Everyone was able to participate in some way with the needs of the temple. While some were gifted to help with the weaving or the craftsmanship of building the temple, there were still plenty of other jobs that people could be involved in as well. These other jobs were of vital importance, too. Are we focused on doing what we can and what God has commanded us to do regardless of what it is or how important it may be perceived by others? RESPONSE: Father,…

VERSE: Exodus 24:16–and the glory of the Lord settled on Mount Sinai. For six days the cloud covered the mountain and on the seventh day the Lord called to Moses from within the cloud. TRUTH: God came down to meet with Moses. He came as a cloud that enveloped the mountain. When it was time, God called to Moses to come to Him. God is calling us to come meet with Him. He desires a relationship with each of us. He wants to show Himself to us. Are we looking for Him? Are we willing to go where He is in order to meet with Him? RESPONSE: Father, Your glory…

VERSE: Exodus 18:23–If you do this and God so commands, you will be able to stand the strain, and all these people will go home satisfied. TRUTH: Moses had a problem, he was trying to do everything by himself. Moses had seen that the people were having questions and disputes so they brought all these to him so he could share God’s will with the people. However, the problem became that there were too many issues for Moses to handle and he felt overwhelmed. Jethro told him that in order to be effective, Moses needed to share the load. The Lord is not looking for people who are willing to…
