Psalm and Praise, Day 138 Am I ever not walking in trouble? Read Psalm chapter 138. It seems like no matter where I step, I’m in trouble more often than not. Thankfully, God sees and he helps to preserve and guide me into the steps that I need to be taking. If we are believers, then we are constantly surrounded by enemies and every step we take will be one that is criticized and ridiculed. We must continue to follow through, knowing that God will honor his word and he will preserve and protect us.

Psalm and Praise, Day 137 This is such a sad song of being defeated. Read Psalm chapter 137. Reading the words of these captive Israelites reminds us that we are only victorious in Christ and that even in the difficult times, God is ther one who is there for us. We rejoice in him. We rest in him. Are we keeping that in mind as we praise him?

Psalm and Praise, Day 136 His love endures forever. Read Psalm chapter 136. This phrase is repeated in every verse of this chapter. A constant reminder of God and how he impacts our lives. HIS love endures forever – God’s love, not any ine else’s. The Creator, the Holy One, it is his love that we experience. His LOVE endures forever – we can know that he loves us and cares for us. His love ENDURES forever – it lasts. His love cannot be shut down or turned off. It doesn’t change with the passing of time or flight of fancy. It endures. His love endures FOREVER – His love…

Psalm and Praise, Day 135 Pleasing God. Read Psalm chapter 135. Today was a good reminder that it is not about me finding ways to make myself happy. God is going to do what pleases himself, not what makes us happy. We have to be seeking after his happiness above our own happiness. His pleasure is what matters. Are we praising God and seeking to please him?

Psalm and Praise, Day 134 The night shift. Read Psalm chapter 134. I think this is the first time I ever noticed that these verses refer to people who are working the night shift, the ministers who serve the Lord at night. God is holy and he is deserving of worship and praise at all hours of the day and night and apparently, they had people serving the Lord in the temple at night. It doesn’t matter when our work is and what we are doing. We are to be praising the Lord. We can serve him and glorify him at night just like we can during the day. Regardless…

Psalm and Praise, Day 133 Unity. Read Psalm chapter 133. Reading this very small chapter, it emphasizes the importance of unity of the believers. You see, when we believe in Jesus Christ, he is the one that unifies us. We find our togetherness and commonality through our relationship with Jesus Christ. We are to seek after and intentionally find unity amongst each other. It is a beautiful thing to see people who believe in Jesus Christ working together for his glory. Are we part of a group that allows us the opportunity to demonstrate Godly unity to the world? The world has no idea what it means to be unified.…

Psalm and Praise, Day 132 What do we say to praise God? Read Psalm chapter 132. As I read this chapter, there are so many ways to praise God and so many things to glorify his name for. This verse starts a great list of ways that David was praising God. What do we say to be able to praise God? What comes to mind when we are sharing with Him?

Psalm and Praise, Day 131 Stay in control. Read Psalm chapter 131. This is a very short Psalm, but it has a powerful message. We put our hope in the Lord and because of that, we don’t have to be emotionally reactive to the situations that we go through. God is more than our circumstances and because of that, we can remain calm throughout the situations we go through. We don’t have to blow up or break down, knowing that God is over every situation. Are we remaining calm and quieting ourselves? Are we allowing God to do what he does and trusting in him?

Psalm and Praise, Day 130 Waiting and hoping. Read Psalm chapter 130. This is one of my favorite chapters, so much so that I memorized it. This verse always stands out to me as a reminder that waiting and hoping go together. We go through so many things and we feel like we have to wait for so much, but it is never just about waiting. Psalm and Praise, Day 129 Cut me free. Read Psalm chapter 129. There are days that I feel completely overwhelmed by the circumstances and situations that surround me. That is when I have to remember that God has truly freed me from being bound by the evil around me. I can be going through difficulty circumstances, but even in the midst of those, I am actually truly free because God sets me free. I can endure the hard times because I am truly free in Christ.
