Prayer in Action, Day 12
Are we agile? As we continue reading through the list of those who built the wall, we see some other characteristics. Read Nehemiah 3:22-32.
As we continue through the list of people who built on the wall, we continue moving around the city of Jerusalem. We see so many different types of people working on building this wall. Interestingly, we realize that for many of them, building a wall was not their primary profession. In this last verse, verse 32, we see goldsmiths and other fine metal artisans involved in a simple construction project of building a wall. The question that came to me, are we agile in what we do for God? God is extremely agile and he is able to use anyone for any purpose in any way he wants to, but are we willing to go outside of our comfort zone to be obedient to God.
We have things that God has gifted us to do, and do well. However, sometimes God allows us the opportunity to serve him in a way that is different from those specific gifts. Are we willing to do something different? Are we open to allowing God to use all of us and not just the parts that we feel are “good”.
