Psalm and Praise, Day 3

Shield around me. Read Psalm chapter 3.

As we look at this chapter that David wrote while he was under attack and being chased, we see just how important it was for David to find his protection in the Lord. David was less worried about the actual, physical shield around him and more worried about the divine shield around him. David knew that if God didn’t protect him, nothing else would.

As we come into this New Year, I want to make sure that my focus is on the actual place of my deliverance. I need to keep my eyes on the Lord and his impact on my life, and not get focused on the other things around me that seem to protect me and keep me safe. Of I don’t have God’s divine protection in my life, then nothing else I have will truly be able to protect me. All that I have is for God’s glory, and He is the shield around me.
