Christian Devotional – August 31, 2024

Hope, Day 5

Hope restored. Read Ezra chapter 5.

Time has passed and God has renewed and restored the hope of people to continue to obey him and follow through on the plans. The Prophets have come and shared God’s word and God’s will with the people. They have started working again. The enemies didn’t go away. In fact, the enemies came back and tried to stop the work again but this time the people are prepared. They are going to obey regardless of any enemies standing in their way.

Their hope has been renewed and restored. We can know that God is going to do something. We can have 100% confidence in God. Yet, still not see exactly what we’re putting our confidence in. However, these people recognized that God was moving again. God wanted them to move.

Having our hope in God restored and renewed can remind us why we put our faith in him in the first place. God is worthy of our trust and our faith, and we can absolutely keep our hope in him. Time may go by, but God is never out of control of a situation. He is always working to bring about his will. He will renew and restore our faith as we continue to seek him regardless of the circumstances around us.
