Go and Do, Day 17

What should you be doing? Read James 4:13-17.

Are you a planner? I am. I love a good plan and I am diligent about creating good plans, not just for me, but for all the people in my life. James cautions us about creating plans because we really don’t know what is going to come. We are not God and many things happen that are outside of our plans.

Still, even with that, James throws in one final reminder. We are to do the good things that we see, and if we don’t, that is sin. Sometimes we fall into the trap of believing that sin is only about doing the wrong things. However, we must understand that sin is also about not doing the right things.

Are we doing all the things that God has us to do? Do we omit things that we feel nudged to do, just because we don’t really want to? That omission is sin. We must stay focused in on all that God has for us and do all that God puts in our path to do.
