Book Review – Wounded Heroes Book Two: Trespasses by Anne Patrick
The second book in the Wounded Heroes Series by Anne Patrick is called Trespasses. In this book, forensic sketch artist Mackayla Kensington has come back to her home town to help local authorities identify the remains of three people found buried on the grounds of a US Senator’s home. She is partnered with Special Agent Gabe Landry of the Behavioral Science Unit who is there to determine if a serial murderer is on the loose. As they get closer to the truth, it becomes obvious that whoever it is doesn’t want Mackayla to identify and sketch the victims and will stop at nothing to keep that from happening.
I enjoyed this book a lot, although it seemed to move a bit slow in just a couple of places. I found the story line interesting and wasn’t able to anticipate the ending, which is always nice. I liked the connection to the main characters from the first book in the series and found that to be believable. The story of having faith in God in the midst of terrible loss is very evident and is a strong message throughout the book. Overall, this is a good book that I would give 4 out of 5 stars to and is certainly worth the time for a reader who loves a good mystery.
