The Voice of the Prophet, Day 50

What do you trust when you have nothing? Read Isaiah chapter 50.

In reading this chapter, we see a servant of the Lord who has ultimately ended up with nothing. And yet, that is exactly how God is going to use that servant. Sometimes God has to get us to the place where we understand that we truly do have nothing. There’s not anything that we can do or be part of outside of God. God reminds us that even when we have nothing, no light, no path, we have God.

God is the one who is leading and directing. If we’re not trusting in God, we’re not on the path that God wants us to be on. Sometimes God will remove absolutely everything else from us, so that we have nothing left to trust in except him. He does this sometimes so that we recognize and understand our need for him. Are we trusting in God and following his path and his light? Regardless of whether it’s the only light we have or not, God is the only light we should see or follow.
