The Voice of the Prophet, Day 51

The Rescued. Read Isaiah chapter 51.

Isaiah chapter 51 is an incredible chapter full of the rescue of God’s people. God rescues his people and brings them up out of the terror that they were in. The chapter concludes with God’s wrath being shown on those who have betrayed his people. But the idea of the rescue, it’s such a beautiful picture.

We know that the things we go through in this life are difficult and challenging. We are rarely going to be able to manage. And yet, God promises rescue for his children. He talks about crowning us with joy, and that sorrow and sadness will flee away. It’s a reminder that this life and this world will not be all happiness. There will be sorrow and there will be suffering. We will go through difficulties because this world is not our home.

As children of God, he is going to rescue us and bring us to his home where we will experience his joy everlasting. It can be so easy to get caught up in this world, and all that there is that keeps us from focusing on all that God has done for us. In the right time, God will rescue us.
