The Roman Road, Day 5

Step 5: The confirmation. Read Romans 10:13.
How often do you save the confirmation emails? You know, those emails or texts that you receive when you order something or schedule something. I like to keep them at just in case something comes up, or a question is asked later about what I ordered or what I set up. Those confirmation emails come in very handy if there’s ever a question about whether or not I actually did something.
God gives us the same assurance. We saw yesterday that it comes down to a decision we need to make and a choice that we have. Once we decide to put Christ first in our lives, God essentially gives us his confirmation. This verse is the reminder that God will do what he says, and that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. We can trust in him, and we can hang on to that confirmation. In the difficult times and in the struggles when we question whether or not this was real, we have confirmation from God that we are his.
As we conclude our walk down the Roman road, we see our journey and the journey that every single person it can take. We understand that we are sinners and that the only thing we deserve is death. We realized that God’s love for us was so great that he demonstrated it to us. Finally, we recognize the personal decision that needs to be made and God’s confirmation that he will do what he is promised.
Have we traveled down the Roman road ourselves? Are we sharing the Roman road with others who need to travel the path as well? The gospel message is incredibly simple and wonderfully complex. Make the choice to follow him today. Make the choice to share the message with others, so that they can follow him, too.
