Leading Through Challenging Circumstances, Day 47

Another vision about rebellious people. Read Daniel 8:1-12.
Daniel has just finished a vision in chapter 7 and here starting chapter 8, we see a second vision. Interestingly, this vision also occurs during the time when king Belshazar was king, during the time when the king is so far from God. But Daniel continues to receive word from the Lord through visions.
In this vision, as Daniel is seeing these animals with their horns and their leaders, he understands that part of this judgment is on people who follow God because they have been rebellious. As we are seeking the Lord ourselves, we can sometimes see how others who claim to be Christians are not seeking the Lord. Even those who believe in Christ still can make wrong choices. As a leader, we are to continue to encourage people to follow God. We must continue to lead people and ensure they have every opportunity to be obedient to all that the Lord has for them. But we also have to understand that sometimes people are not going to be obedient to the Lord.
People sin. People fall short of God’s glory. As a result, we have to remember to keep ourselves focused on the Lord. We can’t get distracted by what others are doing or not doing. We have to continue to focus on our obedience and continue to pray for those who have strayed. How can we continue to to encourage those who have strained to come back to the Lord? How can we be that encouragement today?
