Leading Through Challenging Circumstances, Day 51

Worn out. Read Daniel 8:26-27.

Have you ever felt worn out doing the work that God has for you? Yep, me too! I feel like there are so many times when I look at the work that God has for me and I think it looks overwhelming. Then once I’ve gone through and done the work, then I am amazed at how God has picked me up and led me through and sustained me during the work. Then afterwards, I am always astounded at how exhausted I am! I had the opportunity to go on two different mission trips this summer and while I had plenty of energy while I was there, and even during the travel, I had everything I needed to get through each day.

Then I was exhausted. I have felt so drained the past few days as I seek to get back in the swing of things and my routine. We could go back through so many verses talking about the importance that God places on rest. Still taking time for rest and recognizing how God has moved in life, is so important. Daniel had been through a lot and now he took time to rest. He then went back and kept working in his job.

We need to take time to rest. We get tired. God provides for us to take rest. We must take time to rest and allow God to restore and rejuvenate us. Be obedient to God. Do everything he has for us to do, then be just as obedient taking rest time. Do you need to rest today?
