ADHD Gospel, Day 25

Calm Waters. Read Mark 6:45-56.
Jesus has just finished feeding over 5000 people. Counting the women and children, it would probably have been closer to 20,000. He took some alone time and sent the disciples off. Now, he is walking on the water. The water was stormy, but Jesus wasn’t bothered. He created the storms. I wonder if the storm matched his thoughts or mood at the time? He’s walking across the water and while the disciples are completely scared, Jesus is perfectly calm.
Seeing this made me think, are we seeking calm waters, or a calm Savior? Jesus wasn’t bothered by the storms. In fact, he was the creator of the storms. The disciples were seeking to have the storms calmed when instead, if they truly understood Jesus, they would have seen that the storms didn’t matter. They just needed the calmness of the Savior.
My world is full of storms. It seems like more storms are popping up every day. Yet as much as I would like for God to calm the storms around me, they don’t bother him in the least. He’s in control of them and so He has perfect calmness going through them. I just need to look to the Savior and hang on to him. His calmness is the only thing I need.
