Christian Devotional – March 3, 2014
I’m going to change things up a little bit. We’re going to go through 2 John next, but instead of just picking out one verse and moving on to another book tomorrow (2 John only has 1 chapter), we’re going to go through each verse. Since there are 13 verses in the powerful little book, we’ll take 13 days to go through it. I encourage you to read all 13 verses each day.
VERSE:
2 John 1 – The elder, to the lady chosen by God and to her children, whom I love in the truth–and not I only, but also all who know the truth–
TRUTH:
John begins his second letter to the churches reminding them of his love for them. Not just any love, but love in truth. Love that is not founded in the truth is not real love at all. The great part about true love is that it spreads. No only one person loves, but every person who knows the truth and is grounded in the truth has the same love. Are we sharing in the love of God that is grounded in His truth? That is the only way we can truly love one another.
RESPONSE:
Father, Your love is wonderful and amazing. You are truth and through Your truth I can know, experience, and share real love. Help me see Your truth clearer today so that I may love more like You.
