Christian Devotional – October 12, 2016

Read Daniel chapter 6

VERSE:

Daniel 6:5–Finally these men said, “We will never find any basis for charges against this man Daniel unless it has something to do with the Law of his God.

TRUTH:

The men didn’t like Daniel and they really didn’t like the fact that the king did like Daniel. They decided that they would try to find a way to sabotage him. In today’s day and time, this would be when politicians start slinging mud at each other bringing up all the dirt and wrongs that their opponent has done. However, these men had a problem. They couldn’t find anything on Daniel. Everywhere they looked, the could find nothing that they could use to try and besmirch Daniel’s name. So, they finally went after the one thing that they knew they could get: Daniel’s relationship with God. You see, if people were to bring us up before a judge and try to find all the guilty and wrong things in our lives, how much would they find? Would the only thing that people can hold against us be the fact that we believe and stand for the living, Holy God? If we were put on trial with a charge of believing in Jesus Christ, would there be enough evidence to convict us?

RESPONSE:

Father, I know that in my past there are things that I am ashamed of, but I also know that You died for those and have forgiven me and cleansed me for the wrongs I’ve done. I pray that You will take me and mold me into exactly the person that You would have me to be. I pray that people will see overwhelming evidence in my life to convict me of being a follower of Jesus Christ, because I am not ashamed for the world to know that is who I am and what I stand for, whatever the cost.
