Devotional – December 6, 2011

VERSE:
Psalm 133:1–Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!

TRUTH:
How would people characterize our relationships? Unified? Harmonious? These are the traits that God desires in our relationship with others, especially our brothers in Christ. We are not always going to agree, but for those of us who have asked Jesus Christ to be the Lord of our life, our ultimate goals and desires are to be the same as Christ’s which will lead to unity with other believers. Are we striving for unity with others? Are we focused on God’s goals, which bring unity, or on our own, which don’t?

RESPONSE:
Lord, help me to focus on You first. You bring unity, not division. I pray You will help me to seek after unity in all my relationships.
