VERSE:
Amos 6:1–Woe to those who are at ease in Zion and to those who feel secure in the mountain of Samaria, the distingished men of the foremost of nations, to whom th ehouse of Israel comes.
TRUTH:
Complacency, comfort, apathy: all these words can be used to describe the people Amos was speaking to. Why is this dangerous? Because we become so focused on ourselves and our wants that we fail to notice anyone else, or even give consideration to what God has for us to do. Don’t shy away from the tougher feelings or things that make us uncomfortable. They could be used by God to draw us into greater obedience to Him.
RESPONSE:
Lord, I know that You look at this world and are not content with the status quo. Help me to see as You see and feel as You feel, so that I will act as You’d have me to act.
