Corinthians, Day 18
How are we seen by others? Read 2 Corinthians 2.
As Paul continues, he reminds the Corinthians of the importance of forgiveness. Paul wants the people to stay strong and to stay firm in their faith and in the standards of what they know Christ has called them to. However, when people repent, they must forgive. Once they forgive, they must build them back up in the body of Christ. Paul recognizes, and wants to emphasize, the importance of building up the body of Christ so that Satan doesn’t have an opportunity to use this for evil.
Also, the church was a witness to the people around them and the church was to be a pleasing aroma of Christ to others. This must be what our life looks like. As we stand firm for the principles that we believe and we understand Jesus Christ as Lord, we must also recognize that people can repent and that through repentance and forgiveness they can be restored into the body of Christ. Are we actively seeking to restore fellow believers enter the body of Christ? Do we seek to be a pleasing aroma of what it means to be a Christian to those that we are around and who witness our lives every day?
